From Side Hustler to Solopreneur — Leveraging Time Management for Joy

Jason Nelson, Founder of Apollus Solutions

Starting your own business can be an intimidating prospect. It requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and risk-taking. But the rewards can be great. For those who are willing to put in the effort and take risks, the potential for success is there.

One person who has taken the plunge and started his own business is Jason Nelson. Jason’s primary business is Apollos Solutions, which provides outsourced accounting and bookkeeping services for small businesses and micro-organizations.

Before starting his own business, Jason worked in the private sector for several Fortune 500 companies and realized that he wasn’t interested in being a bean counter sitting behind a desk all day long. When he was working for a market research agency, he was approached by a colleague who needed help managing the back office of her organization. Jason decided to take on this side hustle as a way to make travel money. His colleague kept coming back to him, asking for more of his time and, eventually, she asked for 20 to 25 hours of Jason’s time per week. This was the moment that crystallized for Jason that he could potentially do this full-time.

Starting a business is a risky endeavor, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. Jason’s story is a great example of what can be achieved when you are willing to take the leap and put in the hard work.
