This Week’s Podcast Guest
High school students have so many decisions to make before they even graduate – what college to go to, what type of college should they attend, how to prepare for standardized tests, how should they format their resume, what should they include in their personal statement, what scholarships to apply to, and even what they’ll major in. But what if there was a way to make the college admissions process easier?
Henry Woodbridge is the founder of Mapt (formerly Undecided), an app that helps students and their families make more informed decisions about higher education.
I was mind-blown when I heard how much scholarship money goes unapplied for each year, and I’m curious to know what parts of the conversation resonate with you. You can check it out at the links below.
You can also check it out on Apple Podcasts (and leave a review if you enjoyed it).
The landscape of education is changing and diverse career paths are becoming available each and every day. Online resources, video courses, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and alternative education platforms are all forms of higher education. With the rise of educational technology (ed-tech) and alternative education options, there are now more opportunities for individuals to pursue careers in education outside of the traditional paths.
After we talked a bit about the “why” and “how” of his company and who they aimed to serve, we talked about the hidden figures on his team – the cofounders he met at a coworking space in Asheville and the advisors and angel investors providing strategic expertise. One key benefit of working with angel investors is their ability to offer advice based on their own experiences as entrepreneurs and operators in the industry. This firsthand knowledge can be extremely valuable for first-time entrepreneurs who may be navigating the challenges of starting a new business. Angel investors who have a deep understanding of the sector can provide insights, connections, and guidance that can help the business grow and succeed, advice that might not be readily available from other people, communities, or sources.
For people looking to bridge tech with social impact, this is for you.
"And that's really what we're trying to do at scale, is bring that sense of empowerment through education to everyone." - Henry Woodbridge
It’s an honor to share Henry’s perspective and story with you — may it help you along your creative and entrepreneurship journey.

🚀 A special shoutout to Kenny Groom, the host of the Beyond Normal podcast, who came to see me at the Charlotte Earth Day Festival film screening of ‘Saying Goodbye to Forever Chemicals!’ We’ve been connected online for a minute and have talked virtually, but it’s always good meeting internet friends in person. He’s proof that I don’t bite at film screenings, so help us make another one possible!
I hope y’all enjoy the rest of your week, on purpose.
